| Special Meetings It
shall be binding upon the President to call special meeting of the Board within a period
of one month from the date of receipt of such a request by 30 of more members of the
Board. |
| Presiding Over of the Meetings
of the Board Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be presided over by
the President. In case of President's absence such meetings shall be presided over one of
the vice presidents. In case of absence of vice presidents, the Executive Committee
members shall elect from among themselves as the president of the meeting. |
| Decisions Decisions
shall be tak
en either unanimously or through majority vote. In case of equality of the vote, the
President shall have a casting vote. |
| Exemptions If
representatives of a particular sect or school of jurisprudence feel that any decision is
against their school of jurisprudence then upon their request the Board shall exempt them
from that decision. |
Quorum
Quorum for a general or special meeting of the Board shall be 41, while
quorum for a meeting of the Executive Committee shall be 11. If any meeting is adjourned
for want of quorum then the adjourned meeting can be held after 24 hours. No quorum is
required for such an adjourned meeting. |
Notice of
meetings
It shall be mandatory to give notice of an ordinary meeting of the
Executive Committee at least before 30 days while a notice of 15 days shall be required
for a special meeting. |
Executive
Committee
- There Executive Committee shall consist of 41 members, including the office bearers. 30
members of the committee shall be elected by the general body while remaining 11 shall be
nominated by the President keeping all the sects of Islam and regions of the country in mind.
- The Executive Committee shall generally meet twice a year. However, the President shall
have power to call further meetings.

Powers and
Duties of the Executive Committee
- In case of any vacancy occurring in the Executive Committee, the Executive Committee shall
have powers to fill up the same. However, presence of a vacancy shall not affect functioning
of the Executive Committee.
- Executive Committee shall implement the decisions and resolutions of the Board and shall
undertake necessary step for protection of Muslim Personal Law and to promote objects of the
Board.
- Executive Committee shall have powers to formulate regulations for proper functioning of
the Board.
- Executive Committee shall form various committees as per the needs of the Board.

Finance
The activities of the Board shall be financed through the following:
- Membership fee of the member
- Donations, awqaf and contributions from individuals and organisations
- Income from property or business, if any.
The Treasurer shall be responsible for finances and maintenance of accounts.
The Board shall have power to maintain accounts with the banks.
The bank account of the Board shall be operated jointly by any one of the President and
Treasurer and another one of the General Secretary and Secretaries.
The President of the Board, in the interest of the Board, may allow opening of bank
account in the banks to be operated by members of the Board either singly or jointly with
another members.
The General Secretary shall have power to sue and defend legal proceedings for and on
behalf of the Board.
The General Secretary shall have custody of the office of the Board.
The Board shall be owner of all of its properties. |
| Amendments and Annulment Amendment
or annulment in the Constitution of the Board can be effected by two-third majority of the
members present in a meeting of the general body provided further that such proposed
amendment or annulment shall be entered into the agenda of the meeting. Quorum for such a
meeting shall be 50 (fifty). |
| Categories of Membership Total
membership of the Board shall be 201 including 41 members of the Executive Committee. Out
of the total of 201 members 100 members shall be fixed-term members have a term of 3 years
while 101 shall be founder members. |
